As much as I'm not a city person (apparently there aren't many hiking trails or kayaking places in cities???), I do toy with the idea of giving city life a try.  I sketched out a floor plan the other night of what I'd want my basic city apartment to be.  Nothing crazy, simple but functional.  And with lots of exposed brick... Love this rustic kitchen, especially the wood top on the island and the leather chair. Source Great examples of pantries. Source Source Source Source When I was in college, I studied abroad in Italy, and we had this quaint villa in Tuscany.   The kitchen the size of most closets, but managed to fit a medium size fridge, a 4-burner stove, sink, dishwasher, and even a washer/dryer combo.  I love the idea of having one of these little space saving machines in my house one day.  Source
